About the Animas Alano Club

We are a nonprofit organization in Durango Colorado.

Vision Statement

Our vision for the Animas Alano Club is to build and support a resilient and thriving recovery community in the Four Corners region.   We envision a safe and comfortable gathering place where individuals find solace and strength, while building lasting connections and sustaining their journey towards a sober life.  We aspire to foster hope and affect the lives of alcoholics and addicts and their families, so they may become healthy and productive members of society.

Our Mission

The mission of the Animas Alano Club is to serve those in recovery by providing a welcoming and safe place, free of addictive substances and behaviors, for meeting, friendship, education, and recreation.

Statement of Values:

  6. Recovery Citizenship: We stand for unity and cohesion among those in recovery by fostering participation and responsible citizenship.
  7. Facilitating Leadership and Service: We aim to kindle leadership and service that is rooted in the unique needs and values of people on the journey to recovery.
  8. Empowerment in Recovery: We work tirelessly to safeguard principles and rights for everyone in the recovery community.

Club Rules:

1.  The Animas Alano Club is a private club for the use of its members and guests. Attendance at 12 step meetings does not require one to be a member of the club. 

2. Violent, unruly, aggressive, menacing, or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated. 

3.  Alcohol and drugs are not permitted in or on the premises.

4.  Anyone under the influence of drugs or alcohol will be asked to leave unless they are accompanied by a sponsor or a medical professional. 

5.  Any form of sexual harassment is unacceptable and persons guilty of such will be asked to leave and their membership will be revoked.

6. Smoking/vaping is allowed outside only in designated areas. No smoking/vaping within 25 feet of any entrances to the club. 

7. No gambling is allowed.

8. Children are allowed. However, it is the responsibility of the supervising adult to insure they are behaved within reason.

9. Panhandling/soliciting is not allowed.

10. Please pick up after yourselves and dispose of trash and recyclables in the containers provided. 

11. No pets allowed: Only trained service animals are allowed on the property. Therapy and emotional support dogs are not recognized. 

12. Sleeping, camping, or overnight staying of any kind are not permitted anywhere on the Animas Alano Club property. 

Club Rules Violations:

Members or guests that fail to adhere to the rules & regulations of the Animas Alano Club will be asked to remove themselves from the property, will be contacted by the club Safety Committee, and may be subject to losing all club access and privileges.
